Since OpenERP/Odoo has integration with PBX like Asterisk server, there are more adopters.*

Will ERPNext make an integration with a softswitch like FreeSwitch (http://freeswitch.org), instead.

FreeSwitch is better in performance and can handle several more calls than Asterisk.

Not on the cards at the moment, but there will be a foundation soon that may have funds to build such extensions (provided everyone pools in!)
