Easy install fails on Ubuntu 16.04 in DigitalOcean at "python2 bench init for production"

I am trying to setup ERPNext in a DigitalOcean droplet. Previously I have tried and succeeded. But, from last two days I am getting this error when trying to create an ERPNext instance. Stack trace is given below:

Hi welcome to ERPNext

This appears to be a permission issue -

“INFO:bench.utils:yarn install”, “error An unexpected error occurred: “EACCES: permission denied, scandir ‘/home/frappe/.config/yarn/link’”

Here’s a similar problem fixed Update from 10 to 11 error

Thanks a heap. I am new to ERPNext. Maybe question was a bit naive. But, your answer was to the point.

I am also stuck on V10 and seem to be running into an issue with the fact that my DigitalOcean droplet is running Python 2.7. I tried following the solution referenced above by @clarkej but still am not able to get over the hump.
Anyone have step by step instructions on how to resolve the migration issues from 10 to 11 on 16.04 droplets? I’m reverting back to my last snapshot until we can figure this out…

You can create a new droplet and then install Erpnext version 11 and install the backup on it.

Every attempt I have made to restore a v10 backup to a v11 install has resulted in a broken system. Evidently there were changes to the database structure in v11 that just do not fit with the old v10 data.

BKM

I can’t imagine you can restore a V10 database to a V11 install. There are new tables in V11 and I’m sure the import process would error out as a result.
