Adding new document type for a form

Hey,
Creating a new doctype, gives me an option to choose document type from the four : document,setup,system and other. however i would like to add some categories of my own only for a specific doctype. How can this be done?
I guess this has been done in the new frappe Schools app as well.

Hi, I’ve made a number of doctypes in my module. But all the items are listed under the same sidemenu category (setup). I need to add more side menu items to categorize these pages. How can i do that?
